I work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mozambique, supporting Mozaic Upliftment Trust. I work to develop the capacity of community-based organizations to carry out HIV mitigation and food security projects. I also work to develop the capacity of Mozaic Upliftment Trust to better support these community partners through strategic planning and systems development.
I live in the community of Manjacaze in the southern province of Gaza, where sand lays siege to my house and the nearby lake hosts the Anopheles World Cup.
In my next life I will be a professional photographer and evidence of my preparations for this can be found on my Flickr page.
I have posted photos of my work with Mozaic Upliftment Trust from the past months on my flickr.com page.

I have posted an article on different technologies that I make use of in Mozambique. This information is targeted at incoming Peace Corps Volunteers, but may be useful for others working here.
This article replaces a long-neglected PCV packing list that this site once hosted. I have swapped out most of the original items I packed, and there is such variance in PCVs’ needs and preferences that I no longer feel that my recommendations outside of the area of IT are particularly pertinent.

I have just begun my third year with Peace Corps/Mozambique and am now living in Manjacaze, a town in Gaza province. I am now working with Mozaic, a South African faith-based organization, to build the capacity of Mozambican CBOs to improve community health and food security.
I have now concluded my involvement in the JOMA Project, an HIV-prevention project promoting positive behavior change in young Mozambican men, and with Africare/Mozambique.
